Let's talk about organizing sustainable businesses!
Date: 31 May, 2021 How can we organize businesses for sustainability? Is the way we currently structure and run organisations a barrier to innovation and achieving our sustainability goals? Do we need to organize businesses differently? Or maybe even create new organizational forms? We welcomed Dina Hestad, who has just completed her PhD at Oxford University investigating the key success factors of sustainability-oriented hybrid organisations (i.e., social enterprises or cooperatives) and how they contribute to organizing sustainability transformations in urban environments. In this interactive discussion we explored what businesses can learn from successful sustainability-oriented hybrid organisations i.e., enterprises that are managing to balance profit and achieve positive environmental and social outcomes. |

Food production is responsible for 26% of global greenhouse gas emission. Agriculture causes 78% of global ocean and freshwater pollution with nutrient-rich pollution such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Half of the earth’s habitable land is used for agriculture, and more is needed as the population is growing. Food is therefore at the center of tackling climate change.
